Gathering loose ends and ensuring a good overview

The Patient Record module in Columna provides a rapid overview of the most important information in a patient’s records, and also a detailed overview of all relevant former diagnoses and treatments.

A rapid overview of the records

The Overview function is the natural entry point to patient records. The overview screen summarises the most central and relevant information in the patient’s medical records, enabling health care professionals to rapidly assess a patient’s state of health and current treatment as well as other relevant information. The overview screen can be seen at the same time as other views.

Flexible overview screen

Each in-patient department and out-patient clinic can adapt the chosen overview screen so that it contains exactly the type of information essential for efficient working processes in the specific department. The overview screen can be adapted for use by both doctors and nurses, and the different types of tasks these specialist groups undertake.

Multi-disciplinary and course-based diagnosis view

The diagnosis overview in the Patient Record module shows all the patient’s current and concluded diagnoses, for all incidences of illness. This diagnosis overview is multi-disciplinary, which enables all specialist groups and departments to create a diagnosis for the patient.

Despite the potentially huge amount of data, individual health care professionals can be sure of the best possible overview, and the information in the diagnosis overview can be filtered as needed. The module thus provides a rapid overview of all of the patient’s current and previous illnesses, shown on one single screen.

Chronological overview

The Read Record function in the Patient Record enables users to read the records in chronological order, or to ’surf’ from section to section, just as in printed records. The Read Record function displays patient records as a book with pages, which the doctor and patient can browse chronologically or search for specific information. Read Record can be shown at the same time as other views in Columna, which is why it provides such a good overview.
