Columna on mobile devices

Columna can also be used on smart phones and tablets, which makes it even easier for healthcare personnel to access patient records, and get a clear overview of each patient’s condition.

Columna on mobile devices opens up new opportunities for providing healthcare personnel with easy access to the patient records. Accessibility is one of the mantras right at the heart of the Columna clinical information system from Systematic. Doctors and nurses have to be able to get a rapid, easy-to-understand overview of the large amounts of information within each patient’s records.

Columna is fully operational on iPad whose size and weight makes it realistic for doctors and nurses always to have Columna with them on their way around corridors and wards.

and tablets

Columna can also be used on even smaller devices. Systematic has developed a prototype of a Galaxy Tab version of Columna that fulfils the doctors’s wish to check new test results – without being near a pc. In the hustle and bustle of the hospital workday, the doctor is often away from his or her computer, and therefore out of contact with the central clinical information system. This means a long time can pass before a doctor gets to see that the results of a test have arrived. This may also mean delays in getting a course of treatment started.

The first generation of the mobile version of Columna enables each doctor to sign up for immediate notification about the results from any test he or she has ordered. In addition to these test results, the doctor has access to read the patient records for all the patients on the ward that he has chosen to follow on his or her tablet.
