The Booking module for Systematic Columna displays the patient flow in both outpatient appointments and operating theatres. This helps provide excellent support in the prioritisation, planning and execution of tasks.

Ensures efficient planning of operations

The Booking module helps reduce bottlenecks and waiting times that can occur as part of day-to-day operations schedules. The overview screen enables the priority manager to see the programme for each day and plan the appropriate work schedules – by altering staffing, changing orders or theatres, inserting acute and cancelled patients, as well as calculating new start times on the basis of the revised programme.

Provides continuous overview of operations

The patient flow can be shown graphically, either on individual workstations or on large screens centrally located in the department. This gives a continually updated overview of the treatment pathway before, during and after an operation. This helps give all the different staff groups a clear picture about how far each patient has reached in the treatment pathway. They can then get ready for when they become involved in the process.

Provides ongoing overview in outpatient departments

The patient flow in outpatient departments is shown in graphic form on large, centrally located screens, in the same way as for operations. This provides a clear overview of each day’s patient throughput.

This in turn enables staff on the wards to see whether the patients have arrived, and reception staff can follow-up on any delays, thereby ensuring better ongoing patient information.
