Developed in partnership with clinicians
Systematic has provided services and applications to the Danish national health service for over 10 years, providing us with a solid foothold in the healthcare IT sector.
Columna – Systematic’s electronic patient record system – has been developed in close partnership with doctors, nurses and medical secretaries, as well as other healthcare professionals. Systematic uses a range of methods to gather maximum input from users and their experience.
For example, all programmers working on Columna have taken part in field studies in hospitals. This helps give them a better understanding of the procedures and conditions within which healthcare professionals have to work.
One employee in ten has clinical experience
Systematic has also employed staff with a clinical background, contributing to our understanding of the work situations in which the system is used. Nearly 10 per cent of the workforce have their roots in the clinical world.
Workshops with clinicians and software developers
In addition, clinicians participate in workshops side by side with the software architects and programmers. These workshops are devoted to working with prototypes of the various applications in Columna, in order to test and adapt the system.
Such methods ensure that Columna works in the ways that users want, before we move into final development and before the finished version is made available for its many thousand users.
