This course enable Trainees to perform system management of the Systematic SitaWare system

Course Overview

This course is intended for personnel like system administrators and other technical staff, who are going to install and configure the Systematic SitaWare system prior to operations as well as for personnel who are to administer the system during employment in an operational environment.

The course will enable the Trainees to perform system management of the Systematic SitaWare system, through a mix of class lectures and a significant number of practical hands-on exercises.

  • Installation, configuration & trouble shooting of Systematic SitaWare and 3rd Party software
  • Maintenance and system management of SitaWare
  • Course summary, questions, evaluation

Skills Learned

  • Basic operational use (to understand the user situation)
  • Install and configure SitaWare, SitaWare Replication Mechanism and  SitaWare Tactical Replication (incl. Battlefield objects, Replication contracts, GIS, Maps and ORBAT tool)
  • Install and Configure 3rd party software (Microsoft SQL Server, ESRI ArcGIS etc.) – limited to parameters etc. needed in a SitaWare context
  • Preparing the software package for deployment
  • Maintenance including Fault Finding, Archiving, Backup and Restore of databases
  • Introduction to integration with SSE products
  • Uninstall procedures

Optimum Trainer: Trainee ratio is 1:8

Course Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of TACLAN
  • A basic understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Windows SQL server administration
  • Basic knowledge of MIP                          
  • A basic understanding of military C2 methodology
