Mid Jutland Region

In 1999 the County of Aarhus initiated a project to introduce electronic patient records (EPR) at the county hospitals. The County wanted an EPR system that was flexible enough to accommodate all specialities, and dynamic enough to be adaptable to the constant changes that the healthcare sector undergoes.

In December 2006 Systematic made an agreement with Central Jutland Region, formerly the County of Aarhus, to complete our EPR system, Columna. This agreement included an option to implement the system at all the region's hospitals.

The medication module has been operational for four years and is the prim,ary tool to communicate and document in relation to medication. The Order/result module, which enables electronica ordering of blood samples and other examinations and see the results hereof in the EPR, is operational at several hospitals in the region, as are Booking and part of the Patient Administration module. Clinical Process is pilot tested at selected departments, and the hospitals see great potential in this module as a tool to improve quality and increase efficiency in patient treatment and documentation.

Columna is being used by more than 17,000 users at nine hospitals in the Region, including the University Hospital Skejby.
