Systematic launches next generation C2 software

Press Release: The Eurosatory 2010 defence exhibition in Paris was the venue for the launch of SitaWare C2 Server, the latest product to join Systematic’s next generation SitaWare 5 C2 software suite.

21 June 2010

It’s a product set to revolutionise C2 information systems by providing a rapidly deployable, off-the-shelf solution which seamlessly integrates multiple systems and legacy applications into a single, unified operational overview.

High-profile venue for important launch

Eurosatory, the leading international defence exhibition in 2010, provided an insight into future trends in the defence arena and presented the latest technologies from the defence industry. So it seemed only fitted that Systematic selected this as the backdrop for this important product announcement.

Michael Holm, Systematic President and CEO, said: “SitaWare C2 Server was born from a need to improve shared situational awareness in a joint/coalition environment. This means dealing with many different types of C2 data, coming from multiple sources.”

He went on to say: “Defence organisations with numerous specialist C2 systems and legacy applications want a single unified operational overview without the expense of yet another bespoke solution. SitaWare C2 Server provides just that, off-the-shelf. An open, standards compliant software platform making C2 information available through a web service – it’s a one-of-a-kind!”

SitaWare C2 Server – unifying the battlespace

SitaWare C2 Server provides defence organisations with a rapidly deployable path for accessing the Common Operational Picture (COP) in Joint Operations Centres and other high-level commands. It’s based on SOA principles, so the unified COP can be either viewed in a simple web browser or made available to other applications via an open web services interfaces.

SitaWare C2 Server is a high-performance, scalable package that is platform independent, making it ideal for use by systems integrators and developers, as well as by military customers responsible for the C2 architectures of the future.

SitaWare 5 – the next generation

The Service Oriented Architecture of the SitaWare C2 Server is essentially providing the engine under the hood of the new SitaWare 5. The new application programming interfaces and web services make it easy to hook up to core SitaWare C2 functionalities with other external systems and technologies.

Systematic has made a commitment to continue to develop products compliant with the Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP) standards. So, right from the outset SitaWare 5 was designed to support the latest Baseline 3 from MIP which has the JC3IEDM (Joint Command, Control and Consultation Data Model) at its core.

SitaWare 5 also features fundamental improvements in user interfaces, standards compliance and data structures. The result is a robust, scalable solution that is amazingly easy to integrate with other technologies and systems – current and future.
