Systematic's CEO cycles to Paris for charity with Team Rynkeby
As part of Team Rynkeby, Systematic’s President and CEO Michael Holm will pedal his way from Denmark to Paris to support The Child Cancer Foundation – and to set a challenge for himself.

16 July 2010
Along with 319 other cyclists from Team Rynkeby, Systematic's founder, Michael Holm, will take the long way to Paris by bicycle. The journey begins Saturday 17 July and ends when the team arrives on Champs Élyséess on Friday 23 July. By then he will have covered over 1300km through Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France.
Michael Holm’s objective is twofold: to support the good cause Børnecancerfonden (The Child Cancer Foundation) and to challenge himself to reach a new level of fitness. When Michael started to practice in January, his fitness level was below zero and he had never sat on a racing bike before.
Team Rynkeby - a great charity
Michael Holm is motivated by the good cause that will come out of the many hours in the saddle: Team Rynkeby has become a very well-run charity that raises money for Børnecancerfonden. Last year the amount came to no less than DKK 3.054.000, an amount which has already been surpassed this year.
The idea for Team Rynkeby arose at a Christmas party in 2001 and the first small team of only 11 riders set off for Paris. Back then they raised DKK 38.000 for the benefit of children with cancer. During subsequent years, prominent riders such as the current Danish Prime Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen has also participated. The event, focusing on healthy lifestyle and contributing to society, has become so popular that over 750 people signed up to participate in 2010. Unfortunately the limit was 320, but this just goes to show how emotive the Børnecancerfonden’s cause is.
