Interns
Does Systematic hire interns?
Yes. Each semester, we take on five engineering students. We also regularly take on interns in our administrative departments, primarily in our communications department.
What types of tasks will I be carrying out as an intern?
We strive to ensure that our interns participate in the day-to-day work at Systematic on equal terms with other staff members. Consequently, you’ll be carrying out the same tasks as all other staff members with similar jobs – but of course we match our expectations regarding your capabilities and performance to your level of training and experience.
Will I be posted at one of Systematic’s offices abroad during my time as an intern?
No. A trip to one of our offices in the UK, US or Finland may take place if it makes sense in relation to a concrete task, but it isn’t an established part of the internship.
What are the working hours?
In Systematic, the working hours follow the so-called flexible time rules. This means that all staff members are normally at work from 9:00 to 15:00, Friday 9:00 to 14:00.You manage the rest of your time yourself.
However, all employees in Systematic are part of a team, so it makes good sense to make sure you’re at work when your colleagues are there as well.
Can I get a job as a student assistant when I finish my internship?
Maybe. We can’t guarantee you a job as a student assistant when you finish your internship, although most of our student assistants started here as interns.
Can I get a letter of reference when I’ve finished my internship?
No, you cannot expect a letter of reference from us, but we are always happy to write a letter confirming that you have worked here. You can also always use Systematic as a reference.
Does Systematic have a graduate programme?
No. At present, we do not have a graduate programme.
Will I need a security clearance?
Yes, as an intern you must obtain security clearance from the Danish authorities. In order to obtain this security clearance, you must be a citizen in a NATO country or have lived in a NATO country for the past 10 years.

We also require you to write an abstract describing your thesis or project in English, so that we can publish it on our website.

No. although we do mostly work with students with a technical focus and background. However, Systematic also collaborates with students from universities, business schools, architecture schools, etc.
What can Systematic offer me?
We provide you with about 30 hours of project supervision while you’re writing the paper. In a few cases, Systematic can function as your primary supervisor.
Via your Systematic contact person, you’ll also have the chance to establish contacts with our in-house technical experts, domain experts and sometimes even Systematic customers.
If Systematic likes my project, will I get offered a job?
Maybe. Working with students on their final projects gives both parties the opportunity to get to know each other and see how well we work together.
Many students do get offered a job at Systematic on the basis of this. However, we cannot in any way guarantee you a job.
What will Systematic use my project for?
Usually, we’ll use it as an up-and-running prototype to inspire our customers.
We never sell student projects to customers, and never put the prototypes into operation.
Will I have the rights to my project when I’ve finished it?
Yes and no. When you work with Systematic on a final project, you retain the right to publish it. You are also free to take employment at any other company – also a competitor to Systematic.
