...talent development

Systematic’s high priority to talent development is extremely beneficial for me and my career.

In Systematic, the belief is that the company will be much better off if it uses resources on training its employees instead of doing nothing to develop their skills. I find this to be a great philosophy. This doesn’t just mean that you get to work with really talented people, but it also means that your chance for learning never ends. When you join the company, it’s not the end of your education; you can continue to learn end develop your skills throughout your professional career.

...training and career

I find it great that I’m not forced to stay on the same career path forever.

The focus on talent development and individual training provides you with knowledge about areas that you may not have known of before. It is likely that you develop an interest in new areas during your learning progress and end up wanting to change your career path. But this is also possible at Systematic. You are not set on how you have to progress, but the company actually makes it possible for you to work in different branches.

This is really great because you can’t always be sure what you might want in the future; your area of interest can change as you develop and learn.

...teamwork

Teamwork is really important in Systematic, and it’s something I highly appreciate.

You get to work in smaller projects where everyone knows exactly what the others are doing, which makes it easy and fast to discuss issues that could arise. Everyone knows the context so you don’t have to use time explaining everything.

Being dependant on other people’s performance also adds to the motivation to do your very best. If you don’t do your job, this will affect the other members of your team and the team result in the end.

...using scrum

In Systematic, we use the agile development method scrum, which I find to be really useful.

Your work gets really structured, right from the beginning of a project. When you have deadlines coming up, it is a necessity to have daily briefings on what is accomplished and what needs to be accomplished. You get to set smaller goals at a time, so it doesn’t seem that overwhelming and confusing. This makes it easier to achieve the overall goal by the end of the project.

... the work-life balance

I really appreciate Systematic’s flexi-time system that ensures a fair balance between your work and your life at home.

You can come in early and leave early or the other way around - you just have to make sure you finish your tasks in time and remember to keep an eye on the hours you spend outside the office. This is possible through our time registration system where you type in your working hours on a weekly basis, and then the system automatically calculates your leisure time. This shows how much freedom with individual responsibility is valued in the company.

...the greatest thing about the job

The greatest thing about my job has to be the variety of tasks!

No day is the same, and no task is the same. There is always a new problem to solve, a new piece of software you need to learn how to use, or a new stage of a project you have to enter that requires a different focus.
I’ve also been given the opportunity of doing some travelling in connection with my work that gives you a nice change of air.

Another thing I appreciate in Systematic is the social dimension. There’s a great number of activities and events for you to participate in. Though your work is taken very seriously, the atmosphere is really relaxed, making you feel welcome right from the start of your career in Systematic.

...working in a company that focuses on Freedom with responsibility

This means a lot!

It’s of course important that you have overall guidelines and know what the company seeks to accomplish, but by giving room for creativity and individual choices, you feel much more motivated, which in the end strengthens the performance of each employee. You’re trusted to live up to your responsibilities, and this makes you feel important and indispensable for the company.
