The course introduces the role of EO (IR, visible and UV) in EW

Course Overview

Core theory consisting of optics, mathematics for EO, EO detectors and digital image processing is delivered. IR and the IR target are covered followed by IR systems, including missile guidance, thermal imaging, IRLS, FLIR and IRST. Visible light and the visible target are covered followed by visible light systems. UV and the UV target are covered followed by UV systems. Laser theory is covered and followed by laser safety and laser systems. Finally, EO EW is covered, divided into EO ESM, EO ECM and EO EPM.
